Bloggin'

Happy belated birthday for my blog, its one year now.

Blogging gave me a place to tell the world about my happiness, share my events, vent my anger, give updates to my friend, etc etc.

An usual blogger wish that their site will be visited, the more the merrier. Today, this blog is about venting my anger, but I know the person that I'm pissed off is reading my blog. Irony.

So to everyone who reads my blog, treat me better, be thankful and I'm not a saint.

In this post, I'm talking about the ones that only calls you when they need help.

The most dreaded conversation I always get is, first they try to start of the conversation (simple hi, some small talk), then straight to the favor. Some even skipped the small talk.

XYZ: You still working in M@xis right?
DL: Yes, some how I can see where this conversation is going.
XYZ: I need your help.
DL: Sure, what can I do for you?
XYZ: Can you check the details of a particular number?
DL: Why do you need the info for?
XYZ: *Here comes the story, some life and death situation, some don't bother to create story, some really rediculous*
DL: I hope that you understand that it would be breach of confidentiality if I gave you the info.
XYZ: I know you can do it one.
DL: Last time I have access to the database, but now I'm in another department.
XYZ: You can ask your colleague to help out.
DL: If you are asking to confirm has the number been taken, I'll be glad to help you. But now you are asking, Name, IC. No., address, etc etc.
XYZ: *Here comes the story again*
DL: I'm sorry, since you have made a police report, let them do the investigation. (I've used this reply for two person)
XYZ: The first person I think of is you, now totally no hope already.
DL: I'll see what I can do and get back to you ok? *In your dreams*
XYZ: Ok, thanks, buh bye.

For those who lost their handphone, I can relate to you pain, but seriously, I don't have access to the database anymore. I can ask my colleagues to help, but there is no guaranty.

Billy once told me an analogy, he said, friendship is like savings. Only after you save, then only you can withdraw some cash. These people tries to withdraw thinking I'm a current account which allows overdraft. I'm not heartless, I can help you if I can, I will be more willingly and try harder if you are not favor-friends.

Busy weekend

It was a busy weekend, will try to keep it short :)

Friday was the day for most of the guys in Subang Hi-Tech Technical Operations Center to move to KL Sentral. I'm the minority few who's not going to move to Sentral.

A farewell party was held.

Saturday was a big day, as Lina Teoh put it, Maxis Annual Dinner is a cool place to be. When I reached there, there were like 30 registration tables scattered around. The organisers registered us and gave us a wrist band ala Genting Highlands.

Outside the hall, there was a cocktail party going on, drinks were served and plenty of stuff going on. There were around 20 The One Acedemy students giving us free tatoo, hair dressing, and body painting for free.

This year's theme is "We do it better". The whole hall was very grand.

I didn't know I was on 2 months of probation before he gave me this. How's the two months? I think I'm loving my job, even the sessions at night was nice. I still have 2 days of book-off(leave) from the night work. There is no reason needed to take book-off, bliss.

For the work load, its still minimal now, but it's coming. I have two projects in hand, one is just maintaining the current system which has been here for more than 7 years (my guess), the other one is about impleamenting a new technology. I really appreciate the trust from my boss to let me handle a new technology.

Giving all my best to both of these until something else comes up :)

Finally

After hearing about it for 3 years, finally I had the chance to have 8 types of ice-cream flavors at one time. In it, Lime Sherbet, Sticky Chocolate, Minty Choc, Jamoca Almond, Rum & Rasins, Mocha, and two more which I forgot. I give you, Swenson's Earthquake (which very much looks like a volcano).

I'm so lazy nowadays. Promised myself to have morning basketball session before going to work was long overdue since last month. Promised my gf to use toner before sleep and brush my teeth is not quite happening.

When I had my Axis X5, life was better. Whenever the alarm of Axim goes off, I'll oblige (Yes, Master) every single thing I took time to pen it down. FYI, X5 is not dead, it ran out of external and backup battery so everything in it is gone. It served me well, but I seem to lost interest in it.

But, its not in Malaysia yet. The nearest I can find is the Dopod 838 Pro, which is a OEM of 02.

Exactly the same spec with the same outlook. Its loaded with the latest Windows Mobile 5.0, supports 3.5G, WiFi 802.11g, 2MP cam and 0.1MP cam for video call.

The problem? Its more than my salary. I was so amazed by it, I didn't care how much is the price. It struck me when my bro told me, with that kind of money, you can buy a decent laptop.

Haze

I know you guy's will think I'm crazy for saying this, but I really miss the haze. Yesterday I went to Kepong in the morning. After doing some work, rushed back to Shah Alam for a meeting.

It was so damn hot in the afternoon, pity me driving in my ol' Toyata DX. When it was hazy, the weather was constantly cooling.
