Blue?

Went to a steakhouse yesterday. Learned 2 things during the dinner.

I don't like steak at all. I always thought that may be I have not came across a good piece beef.

Yesterday I ordered a Wagyu Top-Sirloin at medium rare, didn't like it at all.

Other than the usual Rare, Medium and well done, there's another degree of cooking which is Blue.

From wiki:-

Blue rare
or very rare - (37.8°C/100°F core temp) Cooked very quickly; the outside is seared, but the inside is usually cool and barely cooked. The steak will be red on the inside and barely warmed. Sometimes asked for as 'blood rare'. In the United States this is also sometimes referred to as 'Black and Blue' or 'Pittsburgh Rare'.

Lesson
1. No like steak.
2. No know Blue.

Belgium Cafe

Surprisingly I recognized it before stepping in. Been to this place around 4 years back......

Life is sometimes really funny. Somethings you think you won't lose it but you'll end up losing it. Somethings you don't think you can have it but you'll end up having it.

Things that I'm not prepared for

After 1 week in Auckland, I rushed back to Sydney to assist the staff here. His mood is quite stable now.

The pressure that he's feeling is on me too, plus pressure from a few more projects that's very very hard.

When I'm down, I used to be able to talk to my colleagues or my boss. Now I can't share my frustration with my staff as it will de-motivate them more. I guess the easiest way to convince people to work hard is to work hard together, if not harder.

We've always have this feeling that bosses are hiding something from us, now I know why. Most of the time is to test water (trying to get hints by giving hints), avoid panic situation and to find the best time to spill the beans.

Eg. There's going to be a restructuring and you have to arrange the human resource accordingly. So you go and test water during a casual conversation. Do you like working on spreadsheet? Do you like Indonesia? The truth is I have to transfer you to Indon to prepare pricing strategy under a new team.

2009Q2/2009H1 is going to end soon and my target/KPI completion is just 4%. I've already prepared myself to write lengthy reports and to get screwed all ways.

Wish me luck.
