the flight duration from Auckland to US is shorter than from US to Auckland. Why ar? 11hrs 50mins vs 12hrs 40mins?

If you are flying in the direction of the wind, you travel faster. (11hrs 50mins) If you travel against the direction of the wind, you travel slower. (12hrs 40mins)
