I've always been very busy all my life. Studies, sports, activities, family, etc etc. Things changed when I joined Maxis. Life have slowed down very much since then. Workload wise, all I can say is I wish I had more responsibilities.

My boss tried to give me more, when WiMAX came along, he appointed me as Technical Lead for Network System Operations Center. I was busy for awhile, then we didn't get the license. When nanoGSM came along, it was too late. I've half way through my 3 interviews with my new company.

15/6/07 was my anniversary joining the workforce. Was at Panasonic for 2.5 months then Maxis.

There’s a long story how I end up with Huawei, but I’m glad things turned out this way. 6/7/07 will be my last day in Maxis and I’ll be joining Huawei on 9/7/07.

I’ll be joining as a Product Engineer (CDMA/WiMAX) for Asia Pacific region, but I’ll be based in KLCC. From what they told me, at least 50% of my time will be spent at these places.

Post Processing

I've always wanted to learn post processing for photos. When I stumbled upon GIMP, I decided to stop procrastinating and start learning. Many would ask, why didn't I go with mainstream software such as Photoshop or Corel Draw or Maya. The reason I chose GIMP is because its FREE, do I need to say more?

The first skill that I've learned is Selective Colorization. And these are the results.

Ambience **** Food ***

Last Sunday, to celebrate the good news that I’ve receive, I brought my gf to Ninja Jones to celebrate.

Food wise, it was only avarage, but the ambience was good. They even have ninja’s to serve the food. As for the waitress, they are in normal uniform. To give a better overall experience, I think the ladies should be dressed in Kimono or as Geisha.

Ordered a Soft-shell crab, Spider roll, and a teriyaki set for myself. For dessert, we had a bento dessert set. Didn’t bring my camera along, so I will borrow some pictures from other sites.

Stressed? I don't think so.

I was away from town, around 1 hour's drive from my office. As I wanted to climb up a tree house, I got this call.

C: What’s wrong with your OSSRC 2G?!?! (without even addressing my name and shouting)
D: What’s wrong with it? I need you to tell me. (detect urgency, trying to be helpful)
C: It can’t be use you know?!?!?!?!
D: Ok, what seems to be the problem?
C: Since 6am it can’t be used already!
D: Then you should inform me earlier.
C: How to do work when it can’t be used!
**Gave up from obtaining info**
D: Ok, I’m going back to the office now.

After some arrangement to go back, I woke up from my dream. It was so real because I seldom dream. After waking up, I was still trying to confirm whether anything happened.

I've not been asking to troubleshoot problem when I'm off duty. Unlike my colleagues, usually they'll get a few phone calls every month. Its been 9 months in this role but not one single complain when I'm off duty. Must be damn lucky.

Drake "Sparrow" Leong

Wanted to write about this for a long time, got a push from Dory and now I'm writing this.

Right after SPM, my lil bro asked us, which career gives the best pay cheque. We listed a few such as pilot, businessman, anything to do with O&G, and navigator. Those choices was given due to his moderate results.

To me, he's a bright kid, its just that during his SPM, he was very much into online gaming such as Ragnarok Online, O2jam, Maple, Dota, etc etc. His result was 1A and the rest are all Bs. Not fantastic, but not bad either.

Then my elder bro saw an advertisment about scholarship for navigator. He went for it, after all the long and demanding screening and such, he got it, only 2 chinese got it.

Many would ask, he's a navy? No he's not in the navy, he's trained to handle LNG Merchant Ships. H'e sponsored by American Eagle Tanker(AET) to study at ALAM.

ALAM's student consist of 50% Malaysians and 50% forreigners.

His salary? Let me put it this way, if he decides to stay with this company when he's a captain, one month of his salary would be equivalent to 2 year's salary for a fresh graduate engineer. If he decides to join BP or OOCL, the figure would double............ man, why did I choose Electrical Engineering.

Now, for all those who plans to tackle him
